Marine Ferro-resonant (FR) Series Battery Chargers
Sentry FR chargers use dependable, proven ferro-resonant technology ensuring reliable, trouble free performance in a harsh environment. The ferro-resonant transformer and other internal components are readily available providing easy field repairs worldwide.
Turn It On. Leave It Alone.
Sentry FR-series chargers are designed for totally automatic, unattended operation. All you have to do is set the front-panel switch to "automatic", and the Sentry charger takes over. It monitors all battery banks. Whenever it senses a drop in voltage to the cut-in level, the charger comes on, maintaining the load of your DC system while taking care of your batteries. As the battery approaches full charge, the Sentry's ferro-resonant transformer gradually tapers back the charging current. Then the charger turns itself completely off until it's needed again.
When it's off, it's completely off. There's absolutely no output trickle to overcharge and dehydrate, damage or warp your batteries' cell plates.
Wide Range of Choices.
Sentry FR-series chargers are available in a wide range of 12V, 24V and 32V models, with output current ranging from 20 to 60 amps. Standard input power is 115 or 230 VAC power. Models are available for 50/60 Hz operation.
Standard Sentry units have negative ground with triple output, permitting up to three separate banks of batteries to be charged simultaneously. A fourth output is available on some larger models.
A manual/automatic selector switch, ammeter, full charge and power indicator are conveniently located on the front panel.
Reliability Is Built In.
Sentry FR chargers are designed for dependable operation in a hostile environment, providing continuous operation in hot engine compartments at temperatures up to 122° F (50° C). The units compensate automatically for fluctuations in dockside voltage. Fifteen percent change in input causes one percent change in output.
All models are current limited, and fully ignition protected. The charger has an auto reset DC breaker, allowing the automatic recharge of severely depleted batteries. Isolation-type step-down transformers eliminate the possibility of electrolysis. All products meet applicable yacht safety standards.
